Join me for a short walk down memory lane
During the past year I have made several baby gifts for friends and family. Some of these designs are now available as an adorable gift set for the newborn baby you are welcoming into your family.
Among them these soft and cozy baby blankets that can be cherished for years to come.
So happy with the baby blanket from Passionfruit and Lemonade! Lovely soft materials in beautiful colours and large enough to wrap your baby in.
A wonderful gift (for yourself)!Anouk LitjensNetherlands
I love the custom made baby blanket we received as a gift for our daughter a few years ago!
So much so, that I recently used the pattern and colour combination as inspiration for our sons nursery.Sunette CaplinSouth Africa
My custom made Passionfruit and Lemonade scarf arrived and it is so much prettier than I had been imagining!!
Also soft as a chinchilla's butt and it smells like heaven.
If you are looking for a super cozy gift for someone, can't recommend it enough!Lidija ParadinovicCanada
The best thing about this scarf is when people say: 'You're looking gorgeous in your Monwabisi!'
My scarf is unique, soft and the colours and patterns are amazing.
I like that I can style my scarf in many different ways (due to its size).Bisi BangiweSouth Africa
A friend had posted that Disney's Lion King was looking for dancers. My son went to the website and thought it was a good idea to audition for the role of young Simba, even though he had never had a dance or singing lesson in his life.
It turned out to be one of his best decisions yet! I ended up making a blanket scarf that I could wear at the premiere.
My son was born a few weeks after returning to the Netherlands. While shopping for baby goods I came across this limited edition car seat with upholstery made of Vlisco Wax Hollandais. Of course I couldn't resist!
I still go baby shopping several times a year, because I became a babywear designer for a large retail chain in the Netherlands.
On the first of January, I boarded a flight to Johannesburg accompanied by a student visa, two suitcases and my sewing machine.
I didn't know anyone there, had no idea where I was going to stay, let alone have any sort of steady income waiting for me.
A few years later, I left South Africa with a heavy heart. Leaving behind some of my bestest friends, fondest memories and a fantastic job as a Fashion Design lecturer.
I studied fashion and textile design at the Institute for Fashion Management and Design in Amsterdam. This is where I fell in love with machine knitting.
During my graduation show, I was offered a job as a childrenswear designer for a small Dutch brand, which I gladly accepted.
